THE CITY
The City… The Port
Rocky Point’s population has grown out from the port. The first houses were built along the shores next to the natural bay formed by the rocks of the hill that is now known as “Cerro La Ballena”. There stand Hotel Peñasco (Posada la Roca), the temple, and public plaza next to the boardwalk. In this spot which is now a monumental plaza with walkaways tourist gather, special events take place and the spectacular sunsets can be admired every day.
There are also curios shops, bars and restaurants with ocean views, cafes, spas and the colorful fish market.
From here avenues fan out in different directions such as Blvd. Benito Juarez that connects the city to the highway to Sonoyta. This is one of the most important boulevards with an important commercial zone and ready to access to Sandy Beach, La Cholla and other residential neighborhoods.

Blvd. Fremont is another commercial zone where City Hall is located and where people traveling to the Airport, Caborca, Mayan Palace and residents of Las Conchas pass through everyday.
The Mirador sector on the South, is connected to the city by Campeche and Sinaloa streets. Avenida Matamoros has hotels, RV Parks, restaurants and bars right by the beach.
The most modern and upscale zone is Sandy Beach, located Northwest of downtown area. Here you can find the condo towers, beachfront resorts, restaurants and golf courses. The access point from Blvd. Samuel Ocaña, Revolucion (30), Calle 26 and Calle 13 take you to Sandy Beach and beyond La Cholla, where you can find an RV Park with restaurants, great places for ATV rides and a comfortable residential zone.
