Shops, Stores, and much, much more!
One question we seem to get often is, “Where is the best place to go shopping?” Well, that’s a tricky question. Rocky Point has a variety of Shops, Specialty Stores, and Beach Vendors that sell just about everything. You will be able to find jewelry, clothing, ceramics, furniture, sun glasses, and so much more, I promise! People always ask about a place called “Saks Fifth Avenue” and “Rodeo Drive”, which has recently taken on a new look. Rodeo Drive, which is the original Cholla Bay Rd, is now paved in front of all the shops. Here are some photo showing how it use to look, and how it looks now!
If Rodeo Drive just didn’t do it for you, then how about driving over to the Malecon. The Malecon is a wonderful ocean front area with shops & stores, and a bunch of wonderful Restaurants. This is also the place to go if you want to buy some fresh Seafood for your return home.
Malecon
Now, on the way to the Malecon, on the right side of the road, is a small group of shops call Las Palomas, (not to be confused with the resort). This is another option for some take home souvenirs. (No photos)
Now, if it’s a store you need for supplies like beer, soda, water, ect.., that is no problem at all. Their are stores on every corner in Rocky Point, including 2 new Circle K Stores.
Circle K Stores
Reggie’s 8 to 12
El Pescador Express Market
Keno’s
Super Ley Grocery Store
If you are you looking for a specialty store that has a bunch of great items for sale from the smallest to the largest, then visit Mercedes Rustico.
Now, what do you do when your just too tired to walk around town, or your having too much fun on the beach, but you have to get some sun glasses or earrings before you leave on Sunday?!… You let the shopping come to you. All you have to do is head to the beach, set up your chair and umbrella, and just sit back and relax. Next thing you know, their will be a man or woman standing over you asking if you want to buy one of their items for sale. Its that easy! Beach Vendors are perfect for all us “lazy folks” who still want to shop, but we don’t want to have to get out of our chair to do so.
Beach Vendors
Another wonderful store that you may not know about is the Drive Thru Liquor Store. This is a lazy man’s dream come true!
Another question we get often is about Pharmacies in Rocky Point, and about what you can and can’t but over the counter. It is our understanding, if you have a written prescription from a doctor, that you can get your perscriptions refilled in Mexico, if the medication is available. If you do this, you MUST tell them at the Mexico/US Border that you do have prescription medicine with you that you had filled in Mexico. If you say no when asked, and they end up searching you and find it on their own, you will be in serious trouble!
