13 Street (Calle Trece)
One of the most popular streets here in Rocky Point is known as Calle Trece or 13st. This is the street that host some of the events for bike rally during biker weekend and it is also a place were many people come out to listen to live music and hang out with family and friends. Calle Trece is also a place where you will find many different places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will find Sushi, Hamburgers tacos and Sea Food. A little of everything incase you get hungry. There are also quite a few nightclubs if you are those late party folks. You will also find some nice sports bars to have a few drinks with family and friends. You will also find a few Oxxo stores in the area and a pharmacy at your convenience. There is a great sports/bar here by the name of Chavelas. You can find a live atmosphere here guaranteed Friday night through Monday night. The people are friendly and the service is good. Its sort of a small bar so it can get a little crowded. Other then that it’s an overall great place to go out for the night with friends. Make sure you take a ride out to Trece Calle next time you find yourself in Rocky Point.

8th annual Biker Rally
Fewer bikers expected to roll in for event
Preparations are already underway for the 8th annual Rocky Point Motorcycle Rally!
However, expectations point to a drop in the number of participants over last year given the current economic downturn in the United States, reported Oscar Palacio Soto, President of the city’s convention and visitors Bureau (OCV).
The OCV president stated that given present conditions, they are expecting about 7,000 bikers for this year’s event, about 3,000 less than last year.
He indicated that the exhibition of bikes, principally Harley Davidsons, has already positioned the event among top rallies, although it has reached a point where growth has halted over the rates of the initial years, which topped above 80%.
Palcio Soto stated that given this reason, they are expecting the arrival of around 7,000 bikers.
The OCV president indicated that despite the expect drop in the number of participants, they are working arduously on the successful holding of the event set for November, following through with a now 8 year tradition.
He stressed that on this occasion, as in other years, funds collected through bike registration would be donated to seven altruistic institutions in Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco.
He emphasized that the positive evolution of this biking event has been evident through the growth in participant numbers. In 2001, the event began with just 380 bikers; in 2002, this number reach up to 1,200 followed in 2003 with more than 4,200 participants; in 2004 there were 5,500 participants, in 2005 this number reach up to 7,000; there were 10,000 participants in 2006 and again in 2007.
That’s right everyone! It’s almost time for the 8th Annual Rocky Point Rally, which has become a huge success. In past years, we have had over 10,000 in attendance, including the Discovery Channel who filmed an episode of Biker Build-Off, and Easy Rider Magazine, who wrote a great article about the Rally. We would like to invite you and all your friends and family to come enjoy all the fantastic activities, wonderful food and drinks, and thousands of awesome bikes. We have been blessed with perfect weather the last 2 years, holding at about 80 to 85 degrees, so you may not need your warm clothing again. The Rally offers plenty for everyone to enjoy. They have Poker Runs around town, and to the Topless Bars. They block off Calle 13 on Friday Night and party until sunrise. On Saturday, you can enjoy some Riding Contest, Stunt Riders, and Burn-Out Contest on the Malecon. Sunday, well, “It really is the Day of Rest”, after all that excitement! If you need lodging, we can help. We can reserve Bella Sirena, Sonoran Sun, Sonoran Sky, Las Palmas, Princesa de Penasco, Casa Blanca, Las Gaviotas, and Marina Pinacate. We also have access to a large variety of Houses around Rocky Point, so call for your reservation today!
